Raised in the "rust-belt" of Youngstown, Ohio, Matthew Terry moved to New York City after earning a degree in fashion design at Kent State University. He began his career as a member of Mark Kroeker's Lost Collective design team, then launched a knitwear collection for downtown designer Shelly Steffee. Matthew went on to hone his skills at two of America's biggest fashion powerhouses: Ralph Lauren and Donna Karan. As a Senior Knitwear Designer for Ralph Lauren, he designed for Women's Collection, Men's Purple Label, and Men's Black Label. He later moved on to Donna Karan, where he was the Senior Knitwear Designer for Donna Karan Collection.

Coventry-Matthew Terry is based in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
